Good session ringing at Cissbury

On Saturday morning I awoke at 5:00 and arrived at Cissbury, Findon at 6:30. Half way there, whilst in the car it started raining!  Fortunately once we had arrived it had stopped and so it was pretty much ideal conditions for ringing. After reaching the site I help put up some nets and then did a net round.

Throughout the session we caught 6 Blackcap, 2 Bullfinch, 2 Dunnock, 2 Garden Warbler, 3 Goldfinch, 1 Whitethroat and 2 Wren. Overall only 19 birds were caught, 12 of which I was able to ring and the rest were retraps. However I was quite pleased to be able to ring a Garden Warbler and handle both the retrap and new one. Before leaving I took down a net.
